Mali Korsten, 22, has been writing and performing her own brand of country-tinged folk for five years. Born in the UK to guitarist Dedi Madden (who has worked with the likes of Zero 7, Sia and Bob Geldof), Mali has gigged extensively across continents, acquiring fans all over the world.
Her unique vocal sound and profoundly personal songs have earned her radio airplay in various countries, and her debut single, “Heal Me,” has been play-listed on some of the top radio stations in South Africa, where she lives when not touring.
Korsten’s debut album, “Atlases & Astronauts”, was released in December 2010 and was produced by husband Cuan Korsten, also a distinguished musician. “Atlases & Astronauts” has been well received by both fans and critics and continues to sell steadily through various online mediums such as iTunes and CD Baby.
In 2011, she won the 16th Annual Barleycorn Songwriter's Competition for her song, "Heart of Faith".
